3 Day Itinerary: Families

Day 1

Morning

Begin your 3-day adventure to Cork with an active walk. There are some very well-known woods around Cork, including Curraghbinny and Farran Woods – but did you know Coillte alone manage nearly 20 woodlands that are open to the public all over the Rebel County? 

Check out the map – there are loads of options and many a hidden gem! You can still find quiet, isolated spots with plenty of space for the kiddies to run around!

With picnic spots dotted all over the woods – Pre order your picnic from the hotel so that you can just grab and go! Picnic baskets are filled with tasty treats and the perfect treat for all the family!

Early Afternoon

There’s more exploring to be done on the way back to the hotel. Fota Wildlife Park is home to a pack of Wild animals! Watch the gallant wings of an eagle, the fierce roars of lions, the prowling magnetism of a tiger & come face to face with many more roaming animals!

Late Afternoon

After you visit the wild animals, take a short trip to the beautiful Fota House and Gardens. You can get a guided house tour and there are miles of gardens for the kids to explore! 

Evening

Located only a stone’s throw away from the hotel, spend the evening having some family fun at Airtastic Entertainment Centre. If your kids seem to always be fizzing with energy, this is the place to bring them. With so much to choose from- bowling, mini golf, ninja activities and bouncing games – You’ll officially be the coolest parents, if you bring the kids here!

Day 2

Morning

After a delish breakfast, feel geared up and take on the day at Adventure Park! Whether you coast along the Karting track, Mark a bullseye in archery, shoot a hellfire in laser clay shooting or bounce like a maniac on inflatables! You can bet Adventure Park is where the fun is at! The park has been purpose built for year-round entertainment, outdoor and indoor, so no matter what the weather, you will be guaranteed a morning of fun! 

Afternoon

Following a hectic morning living in the fast lane, slow down the pace with a trip to Tír na Sí Farm. Gobble down some lunch in the onsite restaurant. Stroll around the nature trail, meet the farm animals, lookout for fairies & ride on the Farm Express Train or on a Horse & Trap

With Indoor and Outdoor play areas, they have something for everyone.

Evening

After a day bustling with action, we can already hear the soundtrack of a grumbling belly!

Enjoy a family dinner in our Brasserie and then relax in our Lobby with some cocktails, while kids aged from 4-12 enjoy our Kids Club from 5pm-9pm. The Explorer Kids’ Club is the place to be for little ones to be entertained. From crazy golf and crazy dance-offs, to movie nights and much more, there’s an impressive selection of fully-supervised seasonal indoor and outdoor activities for them to expend all their bundles of energy.

Day 3

Morning:

Set off in the morning to visit the Heritage town of Cobh.  Once you arrive to Cobh Harbour, it’s a short 10-minute scenic ferry ride to Spike Island. Enjoy the stunning views of Cobh from the water and keep an eye out for seals, dolphins and sea birds!  The island is dominated by the 200-year-old Fort Mitchel. The star shaped Fortress which became a prison holding over 2,300 prisoners. It was the largest prison in the world at the time and there has not been a larger prison in Ireland or the UK since. Children of all ages will learn so much about Irish history through the incredible stories of Spike Island. Will you escape from Fortress Spike?

Afternoon

Grab some lunch in Seasalt Café or from the food truck Truly Scrumptious and have a relaxed lunch in the Promenade, the kids can enjoy the playground while you take a well-earned rest.  Once you’ve treated yourself to some lunch, explore the wonders of the Titanic Experience, which is situated in the original White Star Line Ticket office, which was the departure point for the final 123 passengers who boarded the Titanic.

Evening

After a day of adventures, grab some dinner in the heritage town of Cobh. The Titanic Bar & Grill and the Quays boast great food and spectacular views.
